Transforming an existing proprietary manual test framework into an automated solution – A case study

We would like to tell our story of a test automation project, specifically how we transformed an existing manual test framework into an automated solution an integrated it into Continuous Integration pipelines to provide fast feedback to developers, stable nightly regression, and significantly reduced testing time for releases. Taking this project as a case study we will discuss what we learned along the way, and what a test automation engineer should look out for when designing, estimating, or building a test automation solution, while reusing pre-existing manual test frameworks.
