Ilari Henrik Aegerter

Managing Director, House of Test

Ilari Henrik Aegerter’s formal studies have brought him from General Linguistics and Sociology to Software Engineering and Software Testing. He has 10+ years of experience in the field, coming from the medical software domain at Phonak AG and progressing to e-commerce at eBay. He is now the Managing Director of House of Test GmbH and he believes that there is still a lot of work to be done for excellent software testing. In 2013 he co-founded the International Society for Software Testing (ISST), which advocates for bringing back common sense to testing. In 2015 he was elected into the board of the Association for Software Testing (AST) where he acts as VP of Marketing.

Creator of Appium

Dan Cuellar is the creator of the open source mobile automation framework Appium, and an Engineering Manager. Previously, Dan served as Principal Development Manager at FOODit in London. He also headed the test organization at Shazam in London and Zoosk in San Francisco, and worked as a software engineer on Microsoft Outlook for Mac and other products in the Microsoft Office suite. He is an advocate of open source technologies and technical software testing. He earned a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, with a minor in Music Technology, from the world-renowned School of Computer Science at Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh.

Starting out it was all about Master Test Plans and Requirements Traceability Matrices. Agile brought user stories, sprints, and cross functional teams. Finally Continuous Deployment blew away any belief that testing can exist separately from development.

Ard is a principal Test consultant at Alten Nederland since 2008 and started his career as a tester in 1997. He has been working in different fields such as Finance, Transport, Government and Telecom. He calls himself a Qualisopher which stands for someone  “who is in love with truth and wisdom, while yielding the resolve to want to improve man and his environment”. Therefore he focuses on new developments in testing and looks how innovations can be used in testing. He likes to spread his ideas and therefore he was a speaker at different conferences, such as Test Automation Days, EuroStar, Sigist, Testnet, Expo:QA, CAST  and the Belgium Testing Days.

In 2016 she was a speaker at Romanian Testing Conference, Codecamp Cluj and Iași and at IT Days Cluj.

Dennis van Zundert works in IT since 2001. In 2005 he started in the testing arena where he soon specialized in technical testing: test automation and performance testing. In 2014 he started to work for NS as performance test consultant. There he developed a special interest for shift-left performance testing to bring these tests closer to the development process. This led to the design and implementation of a shift left architecture in several NS departments.

Edward van Deursen bought his first computer in the 80’s, a Commodore64. That’s where his passion for computers begun. In these roles he discovered that most product owners are focused on functionality and not on performance and security.
That’s why he started coaching DevOps teams to integrate security and privacy into the development process.

Vahid Garousi is an Associate Professor of Software Engineering in Wageningen University, the Netherlands. Previously, he was an Associate Professor in the University of Calgary, Canada (2006-2014) and an Associate Professor in Hacettepe University in Ankara, Turkey (2015-2017). He also regularly provides software engineering consulting to software companies in software testing, model-driven development, and software maintenance. Vahid has been active in initiating a number of major R&D software engineering projects in Canada and Turkey. He received his PhD in Software Engineering in Carleton University, Canada, in 2006.

Jan Jaap Cannegieter is a leading test, QA and requirements expert from the Netherlands. He had over 20 years of experience in ICT. Jan Jaap did assignments in testing, test automation, quality assurance, process improvement, requirements, business – ICT alignment, Agile and digitalization. Jan Jaap is Principal Consultant at Squerist, a consultancy company of 90 employees specialized in process management and testing. Within Squerist Jan Jaap is, beside his assignments, responsible for coaching, knowledge management  and product development. Jan Jaap is the well-known author of several articles and books in the Netherlands and is a well-known (keynote) speaker on international conferences.

Dorothy Graham has been in software testing for 40 years, and is co-author of 4 books. Dot was programme chair for EuroSTAR (twice include the 1st). She has been on the boards of conferences and publications in software testing, was a founder member of the ISEB Software Testing Board and on the working party that developed the ISTQB Foundation Syllabus. She was awarded the European Excellence Award in Software Testing in 1999 and the first ISTQB Excellence Award in 2012.
